Dr Marion McGarry is a lecturer, writer, historian and illustrator.
She has a MA from University of Limerick in history of art and architecture, and a PhD from University of Ulster specialising in Irish architecture and cultural identity. She is a freelance illustrator, providing pen and ink drawings of architecture for 'Irish Cottages'. She had published journal articles and a book.
She currently lectures at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology.
Her main research interests are Irish heritage and cultural identity expressed in design: architecture, interiors and furniture. She is currently researching these aspects of Irish castles.
